250gb External Hard Drive

The digital world is now an essential part of our life. The average person is now amassing a collection of photos, documents, and movies. A 250gb external hard drive is the sort of storage that is now becoming a necessity to make the most our digital life.
It was’t that long ago when the personal computer had adequate storage for all the documents we needed – yes it was mainly documents, spreadsheets or presentations that we had on our computers. Our focus was functional – the pc was a tool that we used. We used software on discs to play our games or access programs.
But along came the digital camera. And You Tube. And the mini-video culture. And MySpace. And Facebook. Along came the “social” element, instead of the functional. Handy cams became so cheap anyone could have one. Every laptop sold had a web cam for easy video creation, and digital cameras made the shoot and keep-or-delete option as simple as a press of a button. No more putting the film in for processing, and coming back several days later to pickup your twenty four photos- only to find that 13 of them were out of focus, redeyed or just plain rubbish. The digital camera changed eveything.
It became easier than ever to create digital items, or “media”, and therefore the need to store the masses of media is high. Everyone needs somewhere to store their photos somewhere, without filling up the computers on board storage. A 250gb external hard drive is a good size to start with. Not long ago 80gb was considered a large storage capacity. But a 250gb capacity is sufficient for the average collector of photos, minivideos and other media.
