Does anyone here know an alternative for the starburst effect, but for GIMP?

Please don’t start a Photoshop, Gimp arguement, if this is your life, because I really don’t care.

      Thankyou to anyone who replies!

umm for all you people wondering how to get the black out just delete the black layer and save it as a png

      Best tut ever!

      Crop>select background layer>paths>save shape(rounded rectangle one)>flatten image>duplicate background layer>paths>select shape>inverse selection>delete.
Then under file tab, save for web, on the right, it’ll say “Preset”- select PNG-24 and save. That’ll give you the button without anything else, like an annoying white border.
      Hope that was clear.

Can anyone plz help me. when I use the Elliptical Marqee tool it says: “warning no pixels are more then 50 % selected. The selection edges will neit be visible.”

      what can I do?

you use the magicwand tool and click on the black area. Once you have done that clcik delete. You should have a transperent backround so it should make gray and white square pattern. Save this as a png, bitmap, or jpeg.(png and bitmap recommended)

use the magnetic laso tool to cut the icon and then new layer via cut.
